This morning (our last day!) we toured Taos Pueblo. Our tour guide was a Taos Puebloan woman who had just graduated from college, with a degree in native policy and law. She explained the impact of the Spanish on Taos Pueblo, the fight (and victory) over Blue Lake, the pueblo’s water supply, and the how the inhabitants of the pueblo live with no electricity or running water.
It was really impactful to finish with this view of modern Puebloan people, with their vibrant life and culture, and to talk with our guide and hear her speak about tribal sovereignty.

And, after 1800 miles, we are home, with some cool Lego critters and amazing memories.
